Inspired by the very first pocket watch created by Seiko, the 1895 “Timekeeper,” the Presage SPB495J1 features a hand-finished white enamel dial, bold black Roman numeral hour markers and blue steel hands, resulting in a refined vintage feel. The dial – made by enamel master Mitsuru Yokosawa – is protected by a dual curved sapphire crystal. At the 6 o’clock position sits a 24-hour sub-dial, evoking the sub-dial of the original pocket watch.
Powering the timepiece is Seiko’s own 6R5H automatic movement, which offers a substantial power reserve of 72 hours. Housed in a super-hard coating stainless steel case and fitted to a black LWG-certified calfskin strap, this is the perfect wear-to-work dress watch with the heart of Japan beating within.
